You are a fit if
- You have run trials, or want to lead them
- You have an established practice
- You want sponsors to see your site first
For lead investigators
CMBH is a platform that helps you leverage your investigator experience to bring in more sites and reach more patients, so you can do more studies. Our CRO partner adds gold standard methodology and design, so each study gives sponsors the evidence they need to bring a product to market. You lead the science.
Takes two minutes. No commitment.
Who we work with
We are set up to work with head PIs and lead investigators, so the best studies get done with the best people.
Who this is for
Why CMBH
Our team lobbies Washington for more studies, so you do not have to. You focus on your patients and your science.
Scientific direction stays with you. Your role is set out in writing, and each site keeps its own qualified investigator.
Bring your research to more qualified sites and patient communities, confirmed study by study.
Our CRO partner brings protocol, statistics, regulatory and data expertise, so studies are designed to give sponsors the evidence they need and you can focus on the science.
Work with sponsors on coordinated multi-site studies through a single point of contact.
How it works
Enrollment is where good studies stall. So we start with what patients and providers actually want, then bring in sites that help you reach them.
A sponsor needs sites and investigators in your region.
You, our CRO partner and the sponsor fine tune the study around what patients and providers want.
Qualified sites in new regions bring more patients into the study.
Lead investigators get the first look and keep scientific leadership.
For example: a sponsor needs six sites for a migraine study. You hear first, help shape it, and nearby sites join behind you.
The lead investigator role
A lead investigator provides scientific leadership across participating sites. It is a defined role, set out in a written agreement, and it never replaces the qualified principal investigator at each site.
Shape the research question, protocol input and interpretation with sponsors and partners.
Guide advancing investigators and community practices as they build research experience.
Serve as the scientific voice of the program with sponsors and collaborators.
Getting started
Share your specialty, experience and areas of research interest.
A conversation about your goals, current programs and where a network could help.
Join as a lead investigator under written agreements, with your role and fair market value compensation defined up front.
Questions
No. You lead the science. Your role is set out in a written agreement, and each site keeps its own qualified investigator.
Joining the list is free. Any paid work is for work performed, at fair market value, under written agreements.
Experience helps. We also work with advancing investigators and practices that are building their research experience.
Beyond the lead role
Lead investigators sit at Level 1. Levels 2 and 3 describe the investigators and practices they mentor and work with.
Established research leaders with relevant trial experience, publications, and scientific credibility.
Qualified clinicians or researchers building their trial portfolio, scientific contributions, and leadership credentials through mentorship and collaboration.
Independent practices interested in patient access to research and a pathway toward research participation. Some may begin as informational or referring practices, and others may qualify as active research sites.
Levels 1 to 3 are CMBH professional-development categories. They are not FDA or IRB investigator classifications. A lead investigator does not automatically replace a qualified local PI at each site, and each activated site keeps its own investigator and assigned responsibilities.
What we offer
How progression works
Moving from Level 3 to Level 2 to Level 1 is based on documented competence, GCP conduct, research contributions, and operational performance, not age, media exposure, or promised publication.
We do not promise publications, media recognition, patients for a physician's ordinary practice, or advancement as a guaranteed benefit. Nothing is paid for patient referrals.
